Good!

Really nice Trance patches for Massive.

Alonso Sound is a pioneering sound design company and they specialize in sample libraries and synthesizer presets for such well known synths as Native Instruments Massive, U-he’s Zebra, Sylenth1, Synapse Audio’s Dune and more.

Their latest release is “Alonso Sound Massive Rising Star Soundset” and it contains 100 patches for Native Instruments Massive, programmed by Slavik Bortko.

I’ve been testing this sound bank for a while and I have to say that I’m quite impressed! It seems to hold all the sounds that define a modern, uplifting trance genre (note that these sounds are also suitable for bigroom house.. or ANY club music actually).

I particularly liked the bass patches: there’s plenty of those sharp, low-mid frequency range -oriented, production ready basses which work well in uplifting trance music. These kind of crispy bass sounds are easy to make sit well in the mix with a punchy kick drum.

The lead and pluck sounds are also first-rate. All those “bread-and-butter” trance plucks, leads and supersaws are there plus some unique gems with an extra twist. Personally, I think this category contains some of the best pure trance sounds I’ve ever heard in Massive (or many other synths in that matter). Very usable patches right out of the box that are easy to make stand out in the mix.

There’s also handful of pads, fxs (uplifters, downlifters, etc) and synth sequences. Even though there’s only few pads (I would’ve liked to see more pads – yes, I’m a fan of all kinds of pads!), they are big, lush and beautiful – perfect for breakdowns and background to add that extra atmosphere and texture.

The fx’s are pretty nice too. One of the uplifters is HUGE and it should make an awesome basis for a massive build-up.

Each patch has all the eight macro controls in use to so it’s easy to ‘shake’ the fundamentals of the sound and morph it into something else. Most of the patches has also Sidechain controller so you can easily make the sound PUMP without the need to apply actual sidechain compression.

Conclusion: Slavik Borto is a talented sound designer and this is a very good sound bank for every trance or other club music producer out there who owns Massive. I recommend!
