Hey Richie,

In short: no. At least, I don't do that.

Don't worry TOO much about the tuning of your drum samples. For example, when I make my own music, I may transpose the pitch of my drums (IF they have a prominent pitched element) to match the most dominant/common note of my bassline sequence (and I usually don't no even that). And I leave it there. I never transpose their pitch to try to make them match with the progression of my bassline.

I think it's all about what kind of samples you are using. If you use drum samples that contains a long release (tail) such as those 808 booming kicks, then it's more essential. And same goes with other 'melodic' samples of course. But with short, standard kick-snare-clap-hihat-etc drum samples, it's not an issue.

Hey Ray,

It's for widening the stereo panorama of the sound. When the ping-pong mode is activated and you dial the input panning either left or right, you'll get a nice left-right-left-right or right-left-right-left bouncing stereo effect.

Petri,

Could you tell me what's the reason behind panning the input of the delay to the right?
That would really help me.

And Amazing tutorial!!!

Hi,

I have question.

In these video in the end you transpose all the sound to 'E', since bass line was on 'E' to make sure all sounds are on track and no one is off tune.

When we make songs we have chord progression, And our bass line also follow chord progression.
Suppose, our bass line moves from 'E' to 'C'.
That means do we have to adjust / transpose all the sound of Drum set from 'E' to 'C'? to make sound correct ???
